Training Overview
This training introduces a trauma-informed, faith-based approach to emotional healing designed for Christian women who feel stuck, numb, or overwhelmed despite being spiritually committed. It explains how trauma, story, and emotional patterns shape faith and relationships — and how healing can happen without spiritual bypassing.
What Is Trauma-Informed Christian Coaching?
Trauma-informed Christian coaching is a faith-centered, emotionally aware approach that helps people understand how past wounds, relational experiences, and nervous-system patterns shape their present faith, relationships, and behaviors — while honoring Scripture, emotional honesty, and personal agency.
Rather than rushing toward solutions, forgiveness, or spiritual correction, trauma-informed Christian coaching creates space to name what happened, understand how it formed internal beliefs and coping strategies, and engage healing in a way that reflects the patience, compassion, and truthfulness of Jesus.

Learn MoreWhat Trauma-Informed Christian Coaching Is:
Trauma-informed Christian coaching is rooted in the belief that God meets people in truth, not denial, and that emotional awareness is not a threat to faith, but a doorway to healing.
This approach:
-
Recognizes that the body, emotions, and story carry memory
-
Understands that behaviors often developed as protection, not rebellion
-
Honors the pace of healing rather than forcing resolution
-
Integrates faith, Scripture, and theology without bypassing pain
-
Helps people make sense of patterns in relationships, attachment, and self-protection
Trauma-informed coaching asks why something formed before trying to change it — reflecting Jesus’ consistent posture of curiosity, compassion, and presence.
“A bruised reed He will not break, and a smoldering wick He will not snuff out.”
— Isaiah 42:3
Healing happens when people are approached with gentleness, not pressure.
Â
What Trauma-Informed Christian Coaching Is Not:
Trauma-informed Christian coaching is not:
-
Psychotherapy or clinical mental health treatment
-
A replacement for licensed counseling or medical care
-
Biblical counseling that uses Scripture to correct behavior without understanding context
-
A quick-fix spiritual formula
-
A process that pressures forgiveness, reconciliation, or emotional closure
This work does not ask, “What’s wrong with you?”
It asks, “What happened to you — and how did you learn to survive?”
“Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture.”
— Jeremiah 23:1
Trauma-informed care refuses to harm in the name of holiness.

Why Trauma Awareness Matters in Christian Healing
Scripture consistently reveals a God who draws near to suffering, not one who bypasses it.
Jesus did not demand emotional restraint or immediate transformation.
He asked questions.
He listened.
He noticed where pain lived in the body and story.
“What do you want me to do for you?”
— Mark 10:51
This question dignified desire, agency, and personal truth — all core elements of trauma-informed healing.
Trauma-informed Christian coaching follows this same posture:
listening before leading, understanding before directing, and honoring the full human experience as part of spiritual formation.
Â
A Faithful, Honest Path Forward
Trauma-informed Christian coaching invites people to engage faith without leaving themselves behind.
It allows belief and emotion to coexist.
It honors the story without idolizing it.
And it reflects a Savior who never rushed people past pain — but met them there.
Trauma-informed Christian coaching helps people heal in a way that is both spiritually faithful and emotionally honest — without bypassing pain or betraying faith.
From Vicki:
“Healing begins when we’re allowed to look honestly at what shaped us — without being shamed for what we needed to survive.”
