Honest Questions About Faith, Pain, and Healing

These videos are for people who still care about faith—but feel confused, tired, or wounded by their experiences.

Questions like:

  • Does God care about my pain?

  • Why does God feel distant when I’m hurting?

  • Is it wrong to question God?

  • Can I be angry with God and still have faith?

  • Where was God when I was hurting?

  • Why didn’t God stop what happened?

  • Can I still trust God after betrayal?

  • How do I rebuild faith after church hurt?

  • Is deconstruction a loss of faith?

These are not abstract theological questions.
They are deeply relational questions—usually born out of grief, trauma, betrayal, spiritual abuse, or long seasons of being dismissed.

If these questions resonate, you’re not broken—and you’re not alone.

I offer free exploratory calls for those who want a place to talk honestly about faith, pain, church hurt, and healing—without pressure, fixing, or spiritual bypassing.

This is simply a conversation to see if support would be helpful for you.

Group Coaching for Faith, Trauma, and Emotional Healing

Group coaching offers a powerful space for healing faith wounds, church hurt, and emotional trauma in the presence of others who understand the complexity of believing and hurting at the same time.

This work is especially beneficial for people navigating faith after trauma, betrayal, spiritual abuse, or long seasons of feeling unseen or emotionally disconnected from God.

In a small, guided group, participants experience shared language, reduced isolation, and the safety of being witnessed without pressure to perform, fix, or rush healing.

Group coaching supports nervous system regulation, honest faith questions, and story integration while reminding participants they are not alone in their struggle. Healing in community often restores trust, belonging, and spiritual connection in ways individual work alone cannot.

My name is Vicki Diemert, and I’m the founder of The Healing Narrative and a trauma-informed faith coach.

I work with people who still care deeply about God—but whose faith has been complicated by pain, church hurt, betrayal, or experiences where their emotions and questions weren’t safe or welcomed.

My work sits at the intersection of faith, emotional healing, story work, and trauma awareness. I help people slow down, make sense of what they’ve lived through, and rebuild faith in a way that honors both their spirituality and their nervous system—without pressure, shame, or spiritual bypassing.

Why This Work Matters to Me

I didn’t come to this work because faith was easy for me.
I came to it because I’ve lived the tension of loving God while carrying questions that didn’t fit neat answers.

I’ve sat with people who did everything “right” and still experienced harm.
I’ve watched how often pain is minimized in religious spaces—and how quickly honest questions are labeled as weakness or rebellion.

I believe faith was never meant to require emotional self-abandonment.

Scripture is filled with people who questioned, lamented, protested, and wrestled honestly with God—and were met with engagement, not rejection. My work is about helping people rediscover that kind of faith: grounded, honest, and resilient.

How I Work

I don’t offer quick fixes or one-size-fits-all answers.
I offer space—to tell the truth of your story, to name what hurt, and to explore faith at a pace that restores dignity and trust.

This work is especially for you if:

  • You love God but feel emotionally disconnected or confused

  • You’ve experienced church hurt or spiritual abuse

  • You’re navigating doubt, anger, grief, or numbness in your faith

  • You’re rebuilding after betrayal, trauma, or loss

You don’t need certainty to begin.
You just need honesty and care.

If you’d like to explore what support could look like for you, I offer free exploratory calls—simply a conversation to see if this work would be a good fit.

You don’t have to carry these questions alone.

"I was hesitant, but the group did more for me than I could've ever imagined! I would say, "Do it!"

"I was used to the idea of one on one and didn't want to be vulnerable in front of others. I didn't know, or want, to trust them, but that is exactly why going through this group was what I needed! I grew in my ability to be vulnerable and to trust."
